The Mataura Muslim Association (MMA) Incorporated is a New Zealand non-profit organisation that was registered in 2019.

We are currently registered with the charity services of New Zealand.

Please note that all members of the Executive team serves in an honorary capacity and therefore do not charge for their services.

The main purpose of our establishment is to focus on the following key objectives:

1. We are dedicated in promoting and enhancing Islamic educational resources and charitable support tailored to the specific requirements of Muslims residing in Mataura, Gore and its surrounding districts.

2. We aim to foster and nurture unity and camaraderie among our members, as well as cultivating harmonious relationships between our members and other communities, offering them the necessary support they require.

3. We actively collaborate and engage with both central government entities, local government agencies, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to effectively achieve our outlined objectives.

Entity Structure:
1. We are affiliated with the Federation of Islamic Associations of New Zealand (FIANZ), which offers guidance and support but does not exert control or direct our operations in any way.

2. We currently have eight committee members namely a president, vice president, secretary, treasurer and four other committee members who were elected in the general meeting.

3. We are based at Mataura Mosque at 127 Main Street, Mataura, Southland, New Zealand.
