Alhamdulillah, last evening, Mataura Masjid hosted another successful iftar dinner, made even more special by the presence of a visiting Imam from Malaysia who graced us with a moving tazkirah before the breaking of the fast.
The Imam’s insightful words resonated deeply with all present, reminding us of the importance of amplifying our efforts and devotion in these last ten days of Ramadan in pursuit of Laylatul Qadr – the Night of Power. He highlighted the beauty of this holy month as a time for reflection, devotion, and deepening our connection with Allah (SWT).
His message extended beyond mere fasting, urging us to actively engage in acts of kindness, prayer, and self-improvement. Furthermore, he emphasized that Ramadan is not a time for isolation but rather an opportunity to reach out, engage with our community, and practice dawah, a responsibility incumbent upon every Muslim.
As the tazkirah concluded, we raised our hands in heartfelt dua before breaking our fast.
The evening’s main dish was Briyani which was kindly sponsored by a generous couple from our community while the rest of us brought a delightful variety of desserts. Jazakallah khair to all who contributed to this wonderful evening!
The Imam then led us in the night’s taraweeh prayers, his beautiful recitation of the Quran filled the masjid with serenity and tranquility.
Thank you to everyone who joined this blessed gathering. May Allah bless you abundantly and reward you immensely for your participation.
